Plastic Scrap Forms

scrap edited-1Industrial plastic scrap comes in different forms such as bales, purgings and film rolls.

Bales are a common form where the material is compressed in a baler. This makes it easier and more affordable to transport the material to a recycling center. Plastic water jugs, (PET) water bottles, polystyrene are often baled prior to shipping. LDPE, HDPE and PP purgings/lumps are masses of plastic waste generated from extruders and plastic injection molding machines. They are typically collected and transported in a Gaylord box. Defective plastic parts that do not pass inspection are regarded as scrap and are also collected and transported to a recycling facility in either a gaylord box or skidded and bound with stretch wrap. PE film rolls can also be skidded and stretch wrap.

Recycling Solutions buys industrial plastic scrap throughout the Chicago land area and mid-western United States. Click here for a quote on your industrial plastic scrap.

Toll Processing Service

Toll ProcessingToll processing is an industry term that describes performing a service on a product for another company. Plastic toll processing includes pelletizing, or grinding of plastic scrap. Plastic extruders, injection molders, and blow molders will produce some level of scrap material. The scrap comes in forms of defective parts, purgings, bales and film rolls. Some scrap can also include outdated inventory that no longer serves any purpose. With toll processing, the scrapped plastic is collected and transported to a recycling facility in either a gaylord box, or a skid bounded with stretch wrap. The plastic recycling center will recycle the scrap by pelletizing or shredding it and send it back to the manufacturer.

With plastic toll processing there's no investment in expensive recycling equipment or industry knowledge required since the toll processing company does all the work. Additionally, by partnering with a toll processor like Recycling Solutions, you can eliminate most of your plastic scrap, save money on virgin resin and prevent your scrap from ending up in a land fill.

We can warehouse your post industrial plastic scrap and your recycled pellets. Think of our warehouse as your warehouse. This is especially helpful for injection molders, & extruders who are tight on space. When you're ready for a pick up or delivery, we'll arrange for a truck at your convenience.

We Make the World Greener

We Make the World GreenerLandfills are not loved. They are ugly, they smell and you wouldn’t want one as a neighbor. The world would be a greener place if we starved landfills by recycling more. At Recycling Solutions Inc. we reduce the amount of industrial plastic waste that goes into landfills.

We buy industrial plastic waste from Chicago-land companies. Once the plastic scrap enters our recycling facility, it is shredded or pelletized. The reprocessed plastic is then sold back to companies as recycled plastic. At one time, the plastic scrap ended up in landfills but fortunately our laws changed this.

Today, companies like Recycling Solutions buys the plastic scrap from manufacturers, recycles it and puts it back into production and not landfills. It’s a cycle that works well for the environment. We like to think that our recycling services make the world greener.

What to do with Rejected Plastic Parts

REJECTED PLASTIC SCRAPNo manufacturing engineer, extruder, injection / blow molder or business owner wants rejected plastic parts. Rejected plastic parts result in a lost of money. Sometimes the part is rejected from the customer due to a defect from either a quality control issue or contamination. A business owner can either send the scrap to a landfill which cost money and pollutes the environment or recycle it. By recycling the industrial plastic scrap, a company can recoup some of their losses.

An industrial recylcing center can regrind and pelletize post industrial scrap which can be reused in the manufacturing process. By recycling your rejected plastic scrap, manufacturers can not only save money but also reduce the high levels of recyclable plastic solid waste that are being sent each year to landfills. Additionally, by partnering with a recycling center like Recycling Solutions, you can eliminate most of your plastic scrap, save money on virgin resin.

Recycling Solutions offers plastic recycling processing services. Located in the Chicago suburb of Elk Grove Village, we can provide local pick up of your industrial plastic scrap, process it and return it your location.
